1. Teach the Ecology of Joy as an idea

How to teach the Ecology of Joy is more easily understood when thinking of the Ecology of Joy as an idea, not necessarily a set of activities such as yoga, Brain Gym, or mindfulness. Think of the Ecology of Joy as an idea, an idea that you want to pass on to the child. That idea revolves around happiness. The Divine is happiness, the child is happiness, and the world wants happiness.

So you may tell the child, ‘You are the happiness you feel.’ Happiness is also love, beauty, life, and truth. So, the child is also the love he feels.


Then, teach the child that he can use happiness to do things. Happiness becomes magical. You may use any activity to pass the idea that when the child uses happiness to do anything, what he does becomes better. Then, the child gets the idea of surpassing himself using happiness.


Whatever activity you play with the child, you will always find ways to teach the Ecology of Joy. You do not need to be a whizz teacher with much technical knowledge. Teach the idea that happiness is divine and magical, and a happy child is divine and magical.

And from there, you may learn to use various activities to make the lesson more captivating.

1. 將歡樂生態視為一個想法

2. First read the text in italics, then read the story
Always introduce the topic before you read the story. If you read the story without placing it into context, it will be a waste of a story. This text appears green in the colour books and italics in the black and white books. These texts have been written in a simple language so you may read them directly to the child. They purport the philosophy of the Ecology of Joy, so you do not have to study and remember it all when introducing it. They are convenient for busy teachers.
